HAUL: BENEFIT BELLA BAMBA + COMPARISON SWATCHES + BENEFIT'S APPLICATION TRICKS AND TIPS FOR A BAMBALICIOUS LOOK!

Feb06

Hi!

A little while ago, a bunch of us were oohing and aaahing over BENEFIT's latest blush, BELLA BAMBA at the counter in Tangs and then somehow, we all ended up riding on Jennifer (Lillgoddess') Benefit order.  Which was a great great move cos Bella Bamba ended up costing us only SGD$37ish, when it retails for SGD$55 at the counters! Yaaaay! Thanks Jen! :D

I do love the gaudily pretty, holographic box - its a total standout amongst the mostly black cases (MAC, NARS, Bobbi Brown, etc) in my blush drawer

Shade-wise, BENEFIT calls it a "watermelon" pink "laced with shimmering gold" - ok, I can go with watermelon pink and I can definitely see the gold shimmer.  And I think the term "laced" is totally appropriate - the gold is worked into the blush itself and is not some overspray or glitter that drops off - so when applied, you get a golden pink flush.  And am sure you know by now, BELLA BAMBA has a lovely sweetish fragrance to it too!

Here are some comparison swatches with other pink blushes I have in my stash - I included Benefit's CORALISTA because I keep reading comments elsewhere that it looks similar to Coralista in the pan.  At least on my skintone, CORALISTA and BELLA BAMBA are world's apart.

(Note: All swatches are medium with no base on NC43-45 skintone)

1. MAC GENTLE (Mineralised blush)

2. BENEFIT CORALISTA

3. BENEFIT BELLA BAMBA

4. MAC DOLLYMIX

5. NARS OUTLAW

As you can see, BELLA BAMBA is totally different from CORALISTA - Coralista ismuch paler and more peachy-pink

************************************************************************

Benefit also released a little "how-to" card at its counters - it shows you how you can use BELLA BAMBA, together with highlighting products, to sculpt and highlight your face for a 3D look.  The tips are created for 4 general face shapes - ROUND, SQUARE, HEART and OVAL:

But really, the gold shimmer laced in BELLA BAMBA is outstanding - in the shots below, I've not used any highlighter on the tops of my cheeks, nor did I apply any MAC MSF or highlighter atop the blush and yet the gold tones in BELLA BAMBA catch the light and reflect it.

******************************************************************************************

I'm really glad I picked up BELLA BAMBA (what more on Jen's order) and I'm not overly miffed at the discrepancy of the weight of some of Benefit's blushes - BELLA BAMBA is 8gm while CORALISTA weighs in at 12 gms (ok, that's 1/3 more! Should I be miffed now? Hmmmm ...).

Ok, I'm blinded by the golden pink ... End of Story :P

HAVE YOU UNLEASHED YOUR BELLA BAMBA?

WHAT ARE YOUR OTHER FAVOURITE BENEFIT BOXED POWDERS?

I'M CURRENTLY EYEING '10' - I'VE SWATCHED IT AT LEAST 8 TIMES SINCE 2 WEEKS AGO! :D

******************************************************************************************

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week ahead!

Bella bamba looks really good on you, especially that glow. I better not get started on benefit blushes, or else I won't stop.

Jerlaine: Ok, honestly, this and Coralista are really nice to have. And 10 ... if you can make an online order, even better. But buying it at Sephora might be ok, cos at the end of it all, it goes towards the $40 voucher :P

I'm still deliberating about getting this. Swatched Coralista and Georgia and they were disappointing - too sheer for my liking. I heard that Bella Bamba contains less product compared to Benefit's other blushes, which added to my hesitation.

It's such a steal to get it at S$37+, I saw it in KL and it's going at RM155 - if I remember correctly.. Super expensive!! And thank you so much for the comparisons =)

AtelierGal: Coralista was sheer? My Coralista isn't sheer at all, as you can see in the comparison swatches. Although Bella Bamba contains less product than the others, 8gm is technically still a good sized blush - MAC blushes are around 6gms

Joey: Yes! It was a steal getting it online - RM155 is about the same as the SGD price? or more? you're most welcome - I think comparisons, especially when you're trying to justify the purchase! LOL! *I don't have anything like it!*
