SHINE, SHIMMER & SPARKLE

Hello!

So Iris or Rougedeluxe was over in New York the previous week and she very sweetly helped me to get my grubby little fingers on some US drugstore items I'd been wanting for a bit. Here's the loot!

Some close-up shots and some of my thoughts:

L'OREAL GO 360 CLEAN DEEP FACIAL CLEANSER.  I've been lemming this for quite a bit, especially for the little scrublet that pops out of the bottle! I really like this face wash - it lathers up real good for a thin, liquidy consistency but I don't get the fragrance.  Seriously, I get citrus-jasmine but yet I get this minty-fresh scent at the same time (from the menthol).  It has Salicylic Acid which is often seen in anti-acne products.

MILANI LIQUIF'EYE METALLIC EYELINER PENCIL in AQUA.  I saw this on Temptalia (really, that website is the Mothership of All Lemmings) and bam! I wanted one.  The colour is intense and really long-lasting - I tried it out on my water-line for 2 days in a row just to see how well it lasted - I had some smudging only at the outercorners of my eyes but the rest of it remained intact (no fading, migrating) and this was WITHOUT SETTING IT WITH POWDER EYESHADOW.  How nice if it came in other shades like green, deep blue, royal purple?  These reminded me of the L'OREAL HIP CHROME EYELINERS which I've been wanting forever but these are a tad cheaper - Temptalia lists the L'Oreal ones as USD$10 while I paid USD$6.49 for the Milani one

"Lady, can you leave my MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL Lipstick in WARM ME UP alone and go find your own lipstick to smolder in?"

This Maybelline Color Sensational range is different from the ones that retail at our local Maybelline counters, both in terms of packaging and colour range.  MAKE ME PINK is a cooler-toned bubble-gum / Barbie-ish pink shade - I've been wanting a lighter pink shade for a while but those I found so far like MAC's Blooming Lovely or Viva Glam Gaga tend to look milky on me, so I'm really pleased with MAKE ME PINK.  WARM ME UP is a warmer, medium pink with just a hint of bronzed-brown sheen (likely from the gold glimmer I see in the lipstick bullet).  Both lipsticks have a somewhat artificial toffee-vanilla scent which goes away (thankfully) after a while and are relatively long-wearing. At USD$7.49 (what a waste there wasn't a BOGO offer!) each, I'm really pleased at how they turned out.
