Qwic-Pic: Sneak Peek @ Breast Cancer Awareness Special Collaborations 2012

I was really surprised to see that China Glaze's Breast Cancer Awareness 2012 Collection, UNITED IN PURPOSE, was already being sold here (DYON International currently has stock; click HERE for their nailwheel swatches) - I saw the collection on Facebook and in person yesterday. I somehow got distracted and didn't purchase but Jerlaine has since helped me get hold of Hello Gorgeous (a mauvey pink glitter, one of the 2 glitter polishes in the collection). Thanks Jerl!

The distracting duochrome polish on the right is Unpredictable from the Bohemian Lustre Chrome Collection.

So I got curious about how OPI's collection would look like. OPI releases a Pink of Hearts collection annually for BCA and for 2011, the offering was Pink Shatter (which I bought ... and I think I used like once ..oops).

After a little Googling, here's what I found - a pretty duo of a pink polish and a pink glitter. The pink glitter is apparently called "You Glitter Be Good To Me" ...

Beauty Judy has a photo of how this duo looks like in real life HERE - incidentally, she has nailwheel swatches of OPI's SKYFALL collection which complements the upcoming James Bond movie.

I'd love to get this set - I think its very pretty although it'd have been nicer if OPI put out a more unique pink. Maybe a pink duochrome?

Then a little more Googling led me to a catalogue of sorts - I think of brands under the Estee Lauder group (like Origins, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder). Each year, these brands put out special products or limited edition packaging of existing products as part of their BCA offerings.

Here are some of those that appealed to me:

Clinique Chubby Stick in Plumped Up Pink - definitely not from the permanent line-up of Chubby Sticks (those usually have food-related names like Super Strawberry, Chunky Cherry, Whole Lotta Honey, etc)

Then there is a Limited Edition Estee Lauder lipstick set - these are usually designed by Elizabeth Hurley but our local counters did not bring in the set last year. I wonder if they will bring it in this time. This set is called the Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Lip Collection.

I hope they will because this looks really good ...

I'm really really hoping Bobbi Brown will bring this in - the Pink Peony Set!

It features a mini blender brush and the Pink Peony Illuminating Bronzer with a limited edition Pink Ribbon emblazoned across the blush.  The Beauty Look Book has swatches of the Pink Peony Illuminating Bronzer which was previously released in a LE collection Tibi Peony and Python in 2011. It looks like a flattering wearable pink with fine gold sparkles.

I can't believe it's almost a year - I totally enjoyed BCA 2011 with my giveaway and I was thrilled to have witnessed the illumination of the Singapore Flyer in pink.

Here is a shot of the Singapore Flyer bathed in pink again. I wonder which landmark will be illuminated this year?

Look out for Shine, Shimmer & Sparkle's annual BCA Giveaway in October - time will just zoom by so I'll start getting the prizes ready soon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
