Showcase: Love in Morning, Afternoon & Night With Lancome's Rouge In Love

Today marks the island-wide launch of Lancome's latest lipstick, Rouge In Love

Fronted by charming Emma Watson, Lancome Rouge In Love is inspired by the joie de vivre (joy of living) of a young woman - the bright, freshness of morning, the fun of the late afternoon and the magic of the night.

The lipstick range is divided into 3 shade universes - one dedicated to morning, one for the late afternoon and one for the night. The result: 27 shades where there is one, two, three or more for everyone

Don't be fooled by the labels morning, afternoon and night - Lancome has put much thought into developing the shades and within each shade universe, there is a good mix of bright and deep shades so one need not feel restricted. There are really no hard and fast rules - nights don't just call for nude or vampy shades just like afternoons need not scream for blinding brights.

Let's take a closer look at each shade universe - I'm including pictures from my Instagram feed that were tagged with Lancome's hashtag of #inlovewithmorning, #inlovewithsundown and #inlovewithtonight

Jolis Matins - In Love With Morning

The morning light filters in, the fresh beginnings of the new day call for a radiant pick me up - the Jolis Matins range of Rouge In Love lipsticks feature a range of shades with a hint of tone-one-tone pearl particles that might set the tone for the day - something, tangy, something cheeky, something spicy or something just subtly chic.

I'm not the most morning-est person, I'll admit - but there are a couple of things that really can make me smile in the morning. The aroma of coffee, a nice hot shower and most of all, taking in the freshness and beauty of flowers and trees, especially when bathed in the rays of the morning sun.

Boudoir Time - In Love With Late Afternoon and Sundown

And Laissez les bons temps rouler - let the good times roll! The late afternoon calls for fun times with the girls - I love meeting for tea and shopping with my chums! The Boudoir Time range of lipsticks features brighter punchier shades electrified with intense pearl particles for a vibrant pout

I love it when the late afternoon slowly melds into evening - the sky from a bright fluffy white and blue slowly starts shifting into a vibrant palette of colours - pink, coral, yellow, blue, orange - as the sun slowly sets. I love watching the sky when it's sundown - it's just magnificent

Tonight Is My Night - In Love With Tonight

Ahhhh, the magic of the night - winding down, dinners, dessert, moon and star gazing. Although evening or night looks typically call for heavier eye or lip shades, it need not always be so. Instead, Lancome Rouge In Love offers a range of intense lipcolours that are infused with golden pearl particles for a smooth, sensous looking pout.

I love night photography - the moon, bright city lights set against the dark blanket of the night sky create such a beautiful contrast. And of course, there is nothing better than crawling into bed after a hot shower and snuggling up to my 3 bunnies (Snuggy, Fifi and Jelly Beans, by the way) ...

The shade of Lancome Rouge In Love I received was 365 N Rose Grenadine - a lovely bright rose pink for a vibrant night out on the town. And it'd look just in place during the day too!

It's not a typical night shade - which I like - it let's me play with eye colours so I can do a deeper smokier eye or a more silvered eye look like the one I created using Lancome's Ombre Absolue Duo in A01 Night and Day pictured below.

Eyes: Lancome Ombre Absolue Duo Night and Day; L'Oreal Infallible Black Onyx

Mascara: Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara

Cheeks: MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power and Guerlain Cruel Gardenia

Lips: Lancome Rouge In Love 365N Rose Grenadine

Out at all local Lancome counters from 1 Jun 2012, Rouge In Love is a really lovely lipstick collection to explore - you're really bound to find a shade to fall in love with.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day - morning, afternoon and night!

I must say, Kas, I was underwhelmed with the Rouge In Love! I was expecting a creamier, more pigmented finish like the online swatches from US bloggers. But we got a different formulation. ;(

And the shade numbers are different, too! I had to rely on memory to find out which was Corail in Love and Rose Boudoir. In the end, I went home with 155B (the local 155B Miss Coquelicot) because the local Corail in Love and Rose Boudoir were disappointingly blah in the pigment department. Looks like I will need to CP Corail in Love and Rose Boudoir from the US!

MsKas9 and Farrah Diba: Hmmm .. to be honest, my lipstick was really fine in the pigmentation department - I didn't find it sheer or blah at all. I've swatched some of the reds just randomly and those didn't seem sheer either. I think the pigmentation level perhaps varies according to the colour? I'll swatch more and see how it goes :)

I went to the Lancome counter at Isetan Parkway Parade and I was quite disappointed with the swatches. I'm hesitant to spend $40 on one of those when I could get a bunch of Revlon Lip Butters for that.

Farrah: I'm sorry these didn't work out for you. I can't say for across all the 27 shades but those I tested and especially mine, 365N is creamy and covers well. I guess it varies :)
