The Teal Files: 2 Teal-Themed Nail Polish Rings featuring China Glaze, Nicole By OPI, Revlon and Model's Own Nailpolishes

The Teal Files is a dedication to the Positively Teal Movement in support of Ovarian Cancer. I haven't been able to update the Teal Files posts as often as I would like to have done but here's one I wanted to showcase. I hope to get a few more out before the end of the month :)

In this entry, I'll be showcasing 2 Nail Polish rings I made that are teal-themed. I've been enjoying them for a little while and here are the snapshots I took off my Instagram feed.

I picked up the nail polish ring materials - the glass cabochons and the brackets - from Jenrine. Thanks to Kim for the introduction :)

I did a variety of colours - sometimes I wiped everything off and re-did all over again. But of all the ones I've done, I love these so much because of the colours.

First up, The Hearts :) I've featured a similar NOTD combination in a blog entry HERE

Just 2 polishes - China Glaze Aquadelic and Nicole by OPI Step 2 The Beat Of My Heart.

I first painted the base of the cabochon with the clear polish from NOPI Step 2 The Beat Of My Heart for a little bit of the tiny glitter. Then I fished out the heart glitter one by one with a toothpick and placed them all over the cabochon. Then I finished the whole thing off with 2 coats of the very lovely China Glaze Aquadelic. Done!

The next one is not so explicitly teal - but it has lovely aqua glitter in it that makes it so soft and feminine looking

For this one, I used China Glaze Snowglobe first for a iridiscent glitter effect. Then I painted 2 coats of Revlon Whimsical for a smattering of pale aqua and baby pink hexagon-shaped glitter. The sheer milky aqua base doesn't add much colour and allows the gorgeousness of Model's Own Indian Ocean come right through. Iris helped me purchase the Model's Own polish in Indian Ocean - it is a shimmering pale blue polish with a metallic pink duochrome glimmer. I think light aqua and pink go so so well together.

I love how the pink shows up in this shot!

I've made a couple more rings since - I really quite like doing this and the rings are really unique and customisable. I just hate how the Epoxy Glue smells - I was told that that glue is the best for glueing on the cabchons and the ring brackets.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week ahead!
